Symantec™ Secure Site Pro Multi-Domain Wildcard
The premiere wide-scale encryption solution from the world's no. 1 CA
When it comes to web security there is just no brand as well-known and trusted as Symantec™. Period. Symantec™ and its trust seal, the Norton Secured seal, are easily recognized by the vast majority of internet users and both are synonymous with security of the highest caliber. When you make a decision as a company or organization to align your brand with Symantec™ you're making a statement to your customers that you too are a premiere brand – one to be reckoned with – and that you are willing to make an investment in security. Both your own and your customers'.
The Symantec™ Secure Site Pro Multi-Domain Wildcard allows you to make that statement – and make it affordably – across your entire web presence. This product is unique both in terms of its versatility and its scalability: it's the perfect solution for any company or organization with a web presence that extends beyond just a site or two. Using the Wildcard SAN fields during the generation process you can opt to enter an FQDN and encrypt a domain, or use an asterisk and encrypt all accompanying sub-domains. This gives you the flexibility to secure your entire portfolio of websites, plus it gives you room to grow. If you add a site or a sub-domain, simply update the CSR and re-issue your certificate. It's as easy as that.
And because this is a Symantec™ product, you get a whole host of other benefits as well. In addition to being able to leverage the highly-regarded Norton Secured seal on all of your domains and sub-domains, you'll also gain access to Seal-in-Search, which puts that same Norton Secured seal beside your listing on search engines—a surefire way to let potential visitors know they're safe on your site.
The Secure Site Pro Multi-Domain Wildcard is also ECC-capable—putting it well ahead of the curve. With apologies for the bad pun, ECC or Elliptic Curve Cryptography, is a different kind of hashing algorithm from RSA and DSA—one that offers better security and optimized performance. ECC keys are smaller than their RSA and DSA counterparts, but by virtue of the math behind the algorithm they're also more secure. This in turn requires less processing power from servers and computers, which greatly improves performance. ECC has yet to be widely adopted, but it will be in the next several years.
And of course, it's also worth mentioning that as encryption becomes a baseline security standard in 2017 and all sites begin to display the visual indicators traditionally associated with security, business authentication is going to become more important than ever. This organization validation-level certificate will provide anyone who clicks on the padlock icon or site seal with verified information about your company. As consumers become more savvy and learn where to look to find out more about whether they're safe, OV and EV SSL will be the only way to differentiate yourself from the competitors and fakers. Not only are you offering your customers assurance about your own identity, you’re helping to protect them from fraud.
The Symantec™ Secure Site Pro Multi-Domain Wildcard is an incredible product for a wide range of reasons. From its versatility and scalability, to its ECC capabilities and the validation it offers—there may not be a better product for securing a broad portfolio of websites available anywhere.
