CAA Record Generator Tool
Specify your Preferred Certificate Authority
A Certification Authority Authorization (CAA) is a DNS record that empowers the domain name owners by giving them the authority to control which Certificate Authorities (CA) can issue SSL certificates for their domain(s). Once you state the names of your chosen certificate authorities for a specific domain, only those CAs can issue SSL certificate for that domain. As a result, it protects your website security by curtailing exposure to vulnerabilities.
Introduced back in 2013, the CAA record has become mandatory as of September 8, 2017. All the certificate authorities must check for a domain's CAA record and issue only if they're listed on it. Whether it's DV, OV or EV, a CAA record is an absolute must for all types of SSL certificates.
Note: CAA record is compulsory for the CAs, not for domain name owners. If you don't want to state your preferred CAs, it's not a problem.
